Captains demonstrate experience, leadership, humility, charity and a willingness to help teammates while excelling themselves. They will uphold Team and Grace policies.
Captains should know and communicate with all team members. Captains should communicate with coaches and ASK TO HELP. Lead in prayer. Lead in warm ups. Help in waxing and wax-teaching. Provide gentle, constructive technique advice. Encourage team members to keep up with studies. Serve as go-between with athletes and coaches. Attend team social activities.
At races, help athletes care with equipment and gear. Help with warm-up and getting to start on time. Check with coaches in down time from your race.
Be creative in ways you, as captain, can lead GCS ski team to excellence, fellowship and bringing Glory to God.
